Is it okay to alone indoors climbing for beginners

Indoor climbing has experienced enormous growth in recent years. Commercial climbing gyms are popping up everywhere, and climbing gyms are busier than ever. Gone are the days of old climbing walls designed for off-season training.

Climbing gyms are becoming increasingly commercial and increasingly aimed at the general public rather than climbing enthusiasts. A side effect is that many new climbers have never set foot outside. There’s nothing wrong there.

Climbing has now become more than just an outdoor sport. Indoor climbing, especially indoor rock climbing, has become a sport in its own right.

No wonder I’m a gym climber.

Gymnasts are always climbers. Climbers in the gym, whether plastic climbers or real climbers, continue to climb. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.

Yes, some snobs think “climbing” is the only “real” climbing, but how much does their opinion really matter? I can guarantee you that if you ask a real climber who holds his ground, he won’t despise climbing in the gym.

Many climbers live far from real rock. Or you don’t know anyone who can help you start your climb safely. Should location and accessibility really impact what you can define yourself as? Obviously not.

Keep doing what you’re doing. You can consider yourself a climber even if you only climb indoors.

You should still try climbing outdoors.

…When you are ready.

Climbing outdoors is great (as is indoor climbing!), and at some point you’ll want to climb outdoors. I recommend you try it if you have the opportunity.

Of course, make sure you can do it safely. Learn the ethics of outdoor climbing, gain climbing experience (6-12 months), and ideally seek help from someone familiar with outdoor climbing.

FAQ?

Is indoor climbing still rock climbing?

Indoor rock climbing (or indoor rock climbing) is a form of rock climbing. Because rock climbing is often considered a generic term for all types of rock climbing, even ice climbing.

Can I call myself a climber if I only climb indoors?

Many people will say that you can’t call yourself a climber if you’ve never climbed on real rock before. I can understand this idea. However, you are free to call yourself whatever you prefer. But if you’re just a gym climber, the term “climber” is probably more applicable than “climber.”

How long do I have to enter to exit?

You can start climbing whenever you want. After all, rock climbing has been around much longer than wall climbing. Many climbers began to engage in real rock climbing even before the advent of gyms.

If you are an indoor climber, I would say 6-12 months is a good time to start thinking about outdoor climbing. By now you should have a good enough foundation in climbing technique to start with simple outdoor rock challenges.

It is advisable to be accompanied by someone who knows the rock and can help you get started safely.
